In spring 2023 Monique Thomaes was artist in residence in the KNSTWRK spaces in the Fortress 5 in Edegem.
Fascinated by the light in the corridors of the fortress, Thomaes recorded the particular light during the 3 months of her stay.
The images were captured with photo-, video- and surveillance-camera.
A selection therefrom are projected in 5 of the 6 compartments of KNSTWRK.
In this installation, the recorded early spring light is confronted with the natural autumn light.
As a visitor you walk and blend with the projection and you become a part of the whole.
A mirrored stage invite you to observe the daily changing light during the exhibition time.
